The Resource Foundation

The Resource Foundation (TRF), formerly Hope Alive Foundation (HAF), was established in 2014 and reconstituted as The Resource Foundation in 2018. The Organization has impacted more than 20,000 people living in over 50 communities in the Western North Region of Ghana. The Resource Foundation (TRF), Ghana is a Ghanaian local non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization operating in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region of Ghana. TRF is legally registered in Ghana under the Company Code of 1963 at the Registrar General Department, since 2018.

TRF-Ghana supports rural communities and the natural environment through community based Peace and security, environmental sustainability, local governance, water and sanitation, health and hygiene promotion and education.

Our main office is located in Sefwi Juaboso with other satellite offices in the Bia West, Bia East, Akontombra Districts and Sefwi Wiawso Municipality in the western North Region of Ghana.

Our organization exists out of experienced, knowledgeable staff and volunteers, who work with passion and perseverance on reaching the goals of the organization. Meet the team:

Miss. HINKE WIERSMA

PROGRAM MANAGER

My name is Hinke Wiersma and I am passionate about protecting nature and forests through sustaining local communities. I believe in simultaneously sustaining people and planet. This is what I strive for as Program Manager of this organization. I have studied my BSc and MSc Forest and Nature Conservation at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, where I am also born and currently operating from. I specialized in the field of policy and sustainable development linked to forest and nature conservation Also, I gained practical knowledge and skills in doing fieldwork in local context (specifically in Juaboso district, Ghana), where I also participated in local development projects.

Furthermore, I have experience in working on (research) projects and carrying them out successfully. My skills in planning and organization are paramount. I will use my knowledge and skills to strive towards bringing the organization to the next level and reaching our goals.

 YUSIF BOATENG

PROJECT FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

My name is Yusif Boateng and I act as the finance and administrative officer of The Resource Foundation. I hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting from Kumasi Technical University, Ghana. I have extensive knowledge in accounting, finance, and audit. Also, I have experience with administrative work including selecting and recruiting staff members and maintaining a safe work environment. In my work I have learned and am specialized in producing financial reports and managing budgets.

I use my knowledge to provide and interpret financial information, monitor cash flows and predict future trends. I formulate strategic and long-term business plans, analyse change and advise accordingly. I manage TRF-GH’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems and liaises with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.

SIMON MINTAH

PROGRAM CONSULTANT

As the program consultant of The Resource Foundation, I play an important role in the well-functioning and well-being of the organization. I am a competent and versatile community mobilization specialist with over ten years progressive experience in community mobilization and empowering marginalized communities. I have vast experience in the planning and development of projects and I see to its successful implementation. My engagement with the chiefs, opinion leaders and community members gives me important information, which is useful for the organization. My passion is to see a strong and sustainable NGOs platform in Ghana, representing the voices of underserved and marginalized communities, advocating for social accountability for all community members.

Moreover, I hold a MSc in Public Health (MPH) on health education and promotion from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. It is with great pleasure that I act as a consultant of The Resource Foundation and I will give advice to the best of my capacity.

 

 

FRANK OTCHERE

VOLUNTEER

My name is Frank Otchere and I am a highly skilled and result-oriented professional who holds a BSc in Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. I have a proven ability to teach students and empower youth on for example information about sexual reproductive health rights. Also, I coordinated and managed multiple projects in the field and facilitated strongly in the local dialect of the Western North regional indigenous. I am capable of working in intense and demanding environments, providing structure and coordination. I will use my knowledge an practical skills to continue working as a volunteer for The Resource Foundation Ghana.
